Dear Sir or Madam,

Thank you for your interest in the Anti Swiftie Association.

As you may already know Swiftie has been dirtying our clean streets with his graffiti “art” for some time now. But now the inconceivable has happened, Swiftie is being exhibited in galleries throughout Cornwall. A meeting was called on the 6th June 2006 and during this meeting of eight “very concerned” people and the A.S.A was formed. We felt that it was time to deal with the likes of these artists tainting our Cornish artistic heritage and we would like to ask you to join us in the fight to stamp this out before its spreads. If you have not yet had the displeasure of seeing this so-called “artwork” then feel free to judge for yourself.

This campaign was born out of the frustration of many Cornish people at Swiftie’s so-called art being shown and endorsed by galleries in Cornwall. As a member you will receive full and regular updates on Swiftie’s movements in the Cornish art world and will be notified of any protests that may take place. If you have any ideas of how to deal with this problem suggestions are always welcome via our email address.

Here are a few of the comments made about Swiftie: -

“Artist? You've got to be kidding. Load of rubbish that the art world is too scared to describe for what it is: talentless, childish scribble. When you look at the work of some of the genius artists to come out of the Newlyn and St Ives schools, how people can even describe someone who produces this junk with the same word is beyond me, and demeans proper, talented artists. I'm not against modern art, and I'm not against abstract art: I'm against crap art.”

“Swiftie is neither new nor exciting”

“I have respect for all true artists: Swiftie isn't one.”

“Comparing Nick Williams' work to Swiftie's is like comparing a Mozart symphony with a toddler smashing randomly on a pull-along xylophone.”

Membership is free, all you have to do is write a letter to the above email address explaining why you would like to be a member of the A.S.A including a small explanation of why you dislike Swiftie and his work*.
Please also include your postal address so we can send you your welcome pack and limited edition A.S.A pin badge.
All members of the A.S.A will receive a monthly newsletter of the Swiftie’s movements and any protests that are going to take place.

Thank you for taking the time to read this.

Together we will "stamp out bad art in Cornwall".

Yours faithfully,

Mr P. Hubris - president of the A.S.A, 2006

*Please be note that for future publishing of A.S.A promotional material the A.S.A shall acquire full copyright of all letters and correspondence submitted to both the above address and email address, you will be seen to have agreed to these terms by the submitting of any writings or imagery, many thanks, ASA.
